HypeTally auto-tracks YouTube likes, channel members, and subscribers and shows them as live OBS browser-source overlays. Accept viewer tips through Stripe Connect on a hosted donate page with live donation alerts in OBS. You also get Discord voice-queue and on-air timer overlays for call-in streams.

Open the dashboard Overlays tab and copy each overlay URL (likes, members, subscribers, donations, plus Discord queue / on-air if you use them). Add each as an OBS Browser Source, set the width and height to match the recommended canvas size next to that URL, and enable “Refresh browser when scene becomes active.” The overlay updates live once it’s in your scene.

No — overlays render on a transparent canvas by default so they sit cleanly over your scene with no box around them. You can add a background panel yourself in the visual editor if you want one.

HypeTally polls YouTube and Discord from our servers, not inside OBS. The Browser Source mostly renders numbers that are already fetched, so it shouldn’t add meaningful load to your encoder.

No. /overlay/{slug}/likes, /overlay/{slug}/members, /overlay/{slug}/subs, /overlay/{slug}/donations, and the Discord overlay URLs stay the same. Switching built-in bar size, the visual editor, custom HTML, or community designs only changes what those URLs render.

Save your channel handle on the Connection tab. With polling on, likes and members only hit YouTube while you are live. Subscriber counts can still refresh on their own schedule. When offline, auto-detect checks about every 10 minutes and resumes live polling when you go live. Detect Live Stream still works anytime.

On the Connection tab, connect with YouTube OAuth when it is available, or paste your own YouTube Data API v3 key. For an API key: open Google Cloud, enable YouTube Data API v3, create a key under Credentials, restrict it to YouTube Data API v3, then paste it into HypeTally. Keys stay on your profile and are never exposed in overlay URLs. The Connection tab includes a step-by-step guide with direct links.

Google’s API quota is per project. Using your own key (or your OAuth-connected project access) means your polling doesn’t share a single shared pool with every other creator, and you can see usage in your own Google Cloud console. If OAuth is available for your account, that path can replace pasting a key.

Your /overlay/{slug}/subs browser source shows a subscriber counter. You can display total channel subscribers or subscribers gained during the current stream. Polling uses your connected YouTube auth the same way likes and members do. Important: YouTube does not give apps the exact Studio subscriber number. For channels over 1,000 subscribers, the Data API rounds the public total down to three significant figures (for example, 12,345 → 12,300; 123,456 → 123,000). That value only ticks when enough new subs push it into the next rounded bucket, so the overlay can stay flat, then jump — even if people subscribed steadily. “Gained this stream” is the difference between those rounded snapshots from stream start, so it can lag or jump the same way. Exact counts stay in YouTube Studio. Channels that hide their subscriber count can’t be tracked.

Open the dashboard Discord tab: invite HypeTally to your server, choose your lobby and on-air voice channels (and related text channels if prompted), then turn on the queue overlay and copy the queue / on-air browser source URLs into OBS. Mods manage the waiting line in Discord; the overlays show who is next and who is live.

Yes — a shared Nightbot-style bot for custom !commands, timers, and HypeTally bridge alerts (tips, members, subs, Discord queue). Configure it under Chat bot in the dashboard, then /mod the HypeTally bot on Twitch and add it as a YouTube moderator. Live sending stays off until HypeTally’s YouTube API quota extension is approved, so overlays keep their daily units.

You set poll intervals on the Polling tab (per likes, members, and subs). Faster intervals feel more live but use more of your daily YouTube API quota. You can also set like/sub goals, target stream runtime, and member scroll seconds there.

Per Google’s Quota Calculator, each project gets a 10,000 unit/day general pool plus a separate 100 calls/day search.list bucket. HypeTally polling mainly uses the general pool: like polls cost 1 unit via videos.list. Member polls hit live chat, which isn’t listed in Google’s public cost table — the dashboard estimates ~5 units so runtime math stays conservative. The dashboard estimates remaining quota against your intervals and helps you back off before a long stream would run you out. Pause polling when offline to save the rest of the day.

The overlay keeps showing the last good numbers and retries on the next interval. A failed poll should not blank your overlay mid-stream.

Connect Stripe from the dashboard Donations tab, finish Connect onboarding, and share your hosted donate page link (hypetally.com/donate/your-slug). Viewers pay with card; funds go to your connected Stripe account. Tips show up in your dashboard and can trigger live OBS donation overlays.

Yes. On the Donations tab, choose OBS overlay display: Pop-up on donation hides the overlay until a tip arrives, then shows your alert for a few seconds. Always on keeps your donation overlay visible in OBS between tips — useful for goal bars or stream totals.

Yes. The visual editor includes separate donation widgets — amount, donor name, message, goal bar, ticker, and stream total — so you can place and style each field on the canvas instead of only using one combined alert card.

Yes. From the Donations tab you can set page colors, header copy, suggested amounts, and upload branding assets. Your public page lives at /donate/{slug} and works without viewers needing a HypeTally account.

Use the visual overlay editor to design likes, members, subscribers, donations, Discord queue, and on-air overlays on a canvas — drag, resize, snap layers, and add animations. For AI: copy a short prompt from Overlays or the editor; it links to /docs/overlays so the model can read the full system contract. Paste the returned HTML into the editor HTML panel and Save & Publish — OBS Browser Source URLs stay the same. Toggle Custom On/Off without deleting saved work, and reset to defaults from the editor anytime.

No. Start from a Compact or Full bar size, then drag, resize, and restyle elements in the visual editor. If you know HTML/CSS — or want AI help — you can paste a full document into the HTML panel and publish that instead.

The /designs gallery is where streamers upload overlay HTML for likes, members, and related presets. Others can apply a design to their dashboard. Templates should use {{ORIGIN}} and {{SLUG}} placeholders so URLs work for every creator.

Paid plans unlock live polling for OBS. Subscribe from the dashboard, manage or cancel anytime from the billing portal, and your overlay URLs keep working with the plan you choose. Plans are month-to-month — cancel and you keep access through the end of the current billing period.

Your YouTube API key and Discord credentials stay on your account for server-side polling. They are never exposed in overlay URLs or shared with other creators.

Overlay goal percentages and optional session-gain counters are HypeTally calculations shown alongside those YouTube numbers — not substitute YouTube stats.
